Job summary

Staples is seeking an Asset Protection professional to support 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday–Friday, at our Houston facilities. You will monitor security systems, assist with safety drills, and uphold regulatory compliance across multiple sites to protect people and assets.

Work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with leadership and frontline staff while maintaining confidentiality and strong communication. Strong collaboration and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of related experience in warehouse operations or loss prevention/asset protection

Responsibilities

• Keep the Asset Protection Manager informed of all potential workplace security and safety issues.
• Maintain front desk, lobby areas and switchboard.
• Prevent internal theft by scanning and bag checks.
• Monitor entrance and front lobby for authorized visitors.
• Monitor property via CCTV, fire, and burglar alarms across facilities.
• Audit security platforms across buildings.
• Analyze data and video audits related to shrink and cargo loss.
• Monitor parking lot for unauthorized activity.
• Notify emergency personnel in emergencies.
• Support leadership with safety drills and real events.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with associates and vendors.
• Manage safety training documents.
• Administer new hire safety training and refresher training.
• Monitor trailer activity in the yard.
