Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Asset Protection Agent in the United States to safeguard customers, colleagues, and merchandise. You will deter theft, analyze trends, and support investigations using video systems and RFID data, while ensuring store safety and policy compliance.

You will work with AP leadership and local law enforcement, prepare detailed incident reports, and participate in store Emergency Response Team trainings, including First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft with sound judgment and recoveries while following policy and AP guidance.
• Identify theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance.
• Drive shrinkage reduction by implementing action plans and protection standards.
• Identify and support internal theft investigations with exception reports and surveillance.
• Investigate internal theft with evidence gathering and collaboration with AP leadership.
• Operate video systems to monitor activity and aid investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to track merchandise movements and identify inaccuracies.
• Maintain safety and security of customers and staff; respond, escalate, and report incidents.
• Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness; participate in store meetings and training.
• Serve on the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) and participate in training, including First Aid.
• Prepare prompt, complete reports for incidents and investigations; testify in court when summoned.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
