Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to help keep customers, teams, and the brand safe. You will partner with the store Emergency Response Team to prepare for and respond to emergencies, while protecting profits by reducing shrinkage and preventing theft.

Responsibilities include investigating theft, analyzing trends, and supporting internal investigations using surveillance and RFID data, with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• A valid security license is required for this role in specified locations.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft using good judgment with accurate, policy-led apprehensions.
• Identify theft trends by using reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Drive shrinkage reduction with action plans and protection standards.
• Escalate and support internal theft investigations via reports and surveillance.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence with AP teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft activity and aid investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to view merchandise movement and assist with inaccuracies.
• Maintain safety and security of customers and staff; respond to incidents.
• Lead security audits and training to raise shrinkage awareness.
• Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in training.
• Prepare prompt reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and violations.
• Testify in court when summoned; build partnerships with leadership and law enforcement.
