Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking an Accounting Manager – Asset Management / Property Management to ensure financial accuracy and insightful asset-level analytics across affordable housing portfolios with exposure to commercial assets.

You will coordinate month‑end close, support budgeting/forecasting, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including lenders and investors, while partnering with Asset Managers to identify trends and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field.
• 4–6+ years of experience in real estate accounting, financial analysis, or asset management.
• Experience supporting affordable housing portfolios preferred; exposure to commercial assets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews monthly financial statements for accuracy and consistency with operations.
• Serves as primary liaison between Accounting and Asset Management during close cycles.
• Supports month-end and quarter-end financial reporting for internal management, lenders, and investors.
• Analyzes asset and portfolio performance, including NOI drivers, lease activity, occupancy, and CAPEX.
• Builds and maintains KPI reports and identifies reporting/workflow improvements.
