Job summary

Gilbane Development Company in Providence, RI seeks an Accounting Manager - Asset Management / Property Management to ensure financial accuracy across affordable housing assets and related commercial portfolios. The role drives asset-level analytics and reporting integrity, coordinating month-end close and budgeting with Asset Management.

Responsibilities include analyzing NOI drivers, occupancy, capex, and lease activity, and preparing close-to-reporting deliverables for lenders and investors.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of real estate accounting, financial analysis, or asset management experience.
• Experience supporting affordable housing portfolios; exposure to commercial assets a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews monthly financial statements for accuracy and consistency with operational activity.
• Serves as the primary liaison between Accounting and Asset Management during close cycles.
• Supports preparation of month-end and quarter-end financial reporting for internal management, lenders, and investors.
• Analyzes asset and portfolio performance, including drivers of NOI (revenue & expenses), leasing activity, occupancy, and capital expenditures.
• Builds and maintains KPI reports and identifies opportunities for reporting and workflow improvements.
• Assists with budget-to-actual analysis and performance tracking.
