Job summary

Gilbane Development is seeking a Director, Asset Management to lead asset strategies across a portfolio of student housing and market-rate multifamily properties. You will drive performance, manage risk, and align investment objectives with operating plans.

You will coordinate with Development, Construction, Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Finance, and Property Management, oversee budgets, and communicate results to senior leadership and investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business.
• 10+ years of experience in real estate asset management or related role.
• Experience with market rate multifamily and purpose-built student housing.
• Strong financial modeling skills and Excel proficiency.
• Executive-level communication and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own asset-level and portfolio-level business plans from development through disposition.
• Partner with Development, Acquisitions, and Capital Markets during deal origination and due diligence.
• Provide independent asset management perspective on market assumptions, operating performance, and capital planning.
• Lead strategy for underperforming assets and coordinate with lenders, investors, operators, and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee third-party property management across PBSH and market-rate portfolios.
• Lead annual operating budgets and multi-year capital planning with Finance, Operations, Construction, and management teams.
• Communicate asset and portfolio performance clearly to leadership, investors, and lenders.
