Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers in collaboration with the Marine Resources Commission seeks an Administration & Finance Coordinator to provide administrative and accounting support for the Administration and Finance department. The role ensures asset controls, processes surpluses and reconciliations, and oversees vehicle records and vendor payments.

The position covers accounts payable, employee expenditures, and acts as a proxy reviewer in Bank of America Works, with duties including policy creation

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment, including computer skills, data entry, word processing, development of spreadsheets and database manipulation.
• Must have good command of the English language and the ability to create correspondence with correct grammar usage.
• Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to work with the public and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and accounting support to the Administration and Finance department.
• Ensure asset controls are in place and safeguard all agency assets.
• Enter controlled and capitalized items, inventories and reconcile to Cardinal and FAACS reports.
• Prepare agency surplus items for sale and disposal; track revenue from surplus sales.
• Maintain Vehicle database and coordinate insurance claims for vehicles and vessels.
• Process Accounts Payable and Employee Expenditure vouchers for payment.
• Serve as proxy reviewer in Bank of America Works.
• Create policies and procedures for assigned duties.
• Cover receptionist duties during absences and lunch breaks on rotation.
