Job summary

The South-Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) is seeking an experienced Capital Asset Accountant to manage the Authority’s asset records, CWIP, depreciation and capital project transfers. You will work with project managers and accounting staff to ensure accurate ledger entries and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 5–7 years of accounting experience (utility accounting preferred), strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of utility accounting.
• Strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital asset accounting across the asset lifecycle (CWIP, capitalization, transfers, retirements, depreciation).
• Reconcile capital assets with the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with project managers to monitor project status and transfers to UPIS.
• Prepare Capital Authorization, Capital Variance Report, and Schedule C reports.
• Develop fixed asset policies and procedures.
• Research historical asset acquisition records and monitor cash flow.
