Job summary

Columbus Springs East is seeking an Assessment Specialist, Behavioral Health for a part-time night shift in Columbus, OH. The role supports triage, assessments, and coordination with the clinical team to ensure appropriate referral and care.

Applicants must hold an OH clinical license or RN, with an advanced degree in nursing or social work/counseling. Prior psychiatric facility experience and CPR/de-escalation certification are required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current clinical, social work, or RN license in OH.
• Associate's degree in nursing or Master's degree in social work/counseling.
• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with adults/geriatric patients.
• Strong clinical assessment skills.
• CPR and de-escalation certification or able to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receives inquiry calls and assists caller with scheduling a face-to-face assessment to triage referral.
• Assesses or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional; screens for emergencies.
• Performs comprehensive assessment and quality therapeutic care for substance abuse, dual diagnosis or psychiatric needs; coordinates with clinical team.
• Interprets treatment to patient and family to reduce fear and barriers to care.

How you'll contribute

• Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face‑to‑face assessment to triage to the appropriate community referral
• Assesses or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients who present for assessment. Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions
• Performs a comprehensive assessment and quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis or psychiatric or emotional disorders; coordinates with the clinical team/on‑call physician to ensure these needs are met either at the facility or other appropriate community provider
• Interprets treatment to patient and family to help reduce fear and other attitudes obstructing acceptance of care and continuation of treatment

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current clinical, social work, or RN license in the state of OH. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's degree in nursing or Master's degree in social work/counseling required
• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred
• Must have strong clinical assessment skills
• CPR and de‑escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire

Hourly range: $25.89‑$34.96 per hour.
