Job description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking an Assessment Specialist to join our Professional Learning team. In this role, you will be a trusted expert on K-12 assessment trends and help empower schools and districts to leverage IXL’s assessment suite to achieve their goals and initiatives. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Curriculum teams to ensure districts have the tools, resources, and support needed to successfully implement IXL’s assessment suite.

We are looking for a candidate with expertise in how K-12 schools and districts use assessments and data to drive student achievement. The ideal candidate is strategic, highly organized, well-spoken, and thrives in a collaborative, high-energy environment.

This is a full-time remote position for candidates in the United States.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Collaborate with internal teams to create assessment resources
• Serve as a consultant to districts implementing IXL’s assessments
• Support internal teams in deepening their knowledge of assessments and data
• Deliver high-quality live and virtual professional development sessions to customers to drive customer engagement and usage of IXL
• Travel domestically to deliver professional development and meet with district leaders – up to 40% possible travel
• Use data to drive decision-making and strategize next steps
• Support district and state-level sales opportunities as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience as a Director of Assessment, or comparable role, at the district or state level
• Expertise in educational assessments, including diagnostics, benchmarks, universal screeners, and common assessments
• Experience implementing a variety of assessments at the district, county, or state level
• Demonstrated passion and expertise in analyzing data, interpreting insights, and developing strategic plans to drive outcomes
• Exceptional presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills - dynamic, enthusiastic, upbeat individual who connects well with others and has a positive, collaborative attitude
• Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, from start to finish
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Self-starter and quick learner with a passion for improving education through technology
• Strategic thinker and problem-solver
• Must live close to a major airport
