Socket.dev is seeking an Assembly Technician Level-2 to handle electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly tasks, including decontamination, point-to-point wiring, hipot test, and interpreting schematics. Reports to Production Supervisor and supports Level-1 staff.

The role requires high attention to quality and the ability to work across product lines, with opportunities to advance to Assembly Technician Level-3. This is a second shift position (3:00 pm to 1:00 am) with limited travel.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2.5 years experience as Assembly Technician – Level 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform point-to-point wiring of electrical assemblies to precise specs.
  • Integrate sub-assemblies and components into tool builds per instructions.
  • Read and apply electrical/mechanical schematics and engineering releases.
  • Decontaminate assemblies and equipment.
  • Work across multiple environments on a single product platform.
  • Mentor Assembly Technician – Level 1 staff.
  • Develop skills toward promotion to Assembly Technician – Level 3.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Description
Purpose, Scope, Organization

The Assembly Technician Level - 2 will be responsible for the following elements of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly: decontamination of tools or equipment; point-to-point wiring, hipot test; mechanical and electrical tool assembly with components; ability to comprehend and describe schematics/drawings. This list is not all inclusive but is representative of the jobs performed by an Assembly Technician Level - 2. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

*This is a second shift position (3:00 pm to 1:00 am)*

Responsibilities

The Assembly Technician – Level 2 responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Perform point-to-point wiring of various electrical assemblies to precise specifications.
  2. Ability to integrate sub-assemblies and components into a tool build based on various instruction methods and to precise specifications.

4. Comprehension and use of electrical and mechanical schematics, engineering releases, and flow plans. This will also require the technician to highlight oversights or inaccuracies with documentation.

  1. Mechanical and electrical understanding of multiple product lines; ability to work on both electrical and mechanical assemblies and integration with limited support on one platform (e.g. SRD, Mercury, Torrent, Storm).
  2. Ability to decontaminate assemblies and equipment.
  3. Work in multiple environments, generally contributing to one product platform.
  4. Mentor/instruct employees who are classified as Assembly Technician – Level 1.
  5. Develop the necessary skills to be promoted to Assembly Technician – Level 3.
  6. Any other duties assigned by supervision.

Education / Technical: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: A minimum of 2.5 years’ experience as an Assembly Technician – Level 1 (Shellback Semiconductor Technologies) or equivalent experience from another assembly position.
