Socket.dev is seeking an Assembly Technician Level-1 to perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly tasks in a second-shift role in the Lehigh County area. The candidate will assemble sub-assemblies, cables, and harnesses to meet precise specifications under supervision.

You will work with schematics and instructions, use common tooling, and contribute to a team-oriented production environment while aiming for progression to Assembly Technician – Level 2.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Entry level position with limited travel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly work.
  • Crimp and pin connectors; build wire harnesses and cable assemblies; complete sub-assembly builds to customer specs.
  • Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions to follow procedures.
  • Use a variety of manufacturing tools (sockets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, volt meters, drills, heat guns, crimp tools).
  • Support a team environment and adhere to company practices and guidelines.
  • Work with sub-assemblies and some tool assembly; develop skills for advancement to Assembly Technician – Level 2.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Description

Purpose, Scope, Organization

The Assembly Technician Level - 1 will be responsible for the following elements of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly: sub-assembly builds; harness and cable construction; component installation; tube cutting, flaring, and installation. This list is not all inclusive but is representative of the jobs performed by an Assembly Technician Level - 1. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Second shift position (3:00 pm ET to 1:00 am ET)
Responsibilities

The Assembly Technician Level - 1 responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Performance in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic work.
  2. Ability to crimp and pin connectors, build wire harnesses, build cable assemblies, complete sub-assembly builds of wet processing equipment to precise customer specifications.
  3. Ability to understand metric and standard units of measure; ability to describe basic electrical circuits; ability to demonstrate understanding of specification tolerances.
  4. Use various documentation methods (schematics, drawings, work instructions) to follow and understand procedures used at Shellback Semiconductor Technologies.
  5. Gain an understanding of various manufacturing tools to include sockets, wrenches, pliers, screw drivers, torque wrenches, volt meters, drills, heat guns, crimp tools (list not all inclusive).
  6. Support a team atmosphere adhering to company practices and guidelines.
  7. Work in multiple environments, generally focused on sub-assemblies and some tool assembly.
  8. Develop the necessary skills to be promoted to Assembly Technician – Level 2.
  9. Any other duties assigned by supervision.

Education / Technical: A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
