Job summary

Geoprobe Systems is seeking an Assembly Technician to join a team that builds and tests complex drilling machines for environmental, geotechnical, water well, and geothermal applications.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, reading schematics, and hands-on skills with tools, with growth and problem-solving opportunities in a clean, climate-controlled shop environment.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics to assemble components
  • Proficient with hand tools and measurement devices
  • Basic PC skills for navigation and documentation
  • Farm work experience or heavy equipment familiarity is helpful
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment

Responsibilities

  • Build components and assemble drilling machines from start to finish.
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulic systems, power trains, and DC electrical systems to assemble machinery per blueprints.
  • Conduct detailed quality inspections on assembled parts to ensure standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and share knowledge for project success.
  • Complete startup and test the machine, troubleshoot issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement for the team, company, or customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

The Geoprobe®Assembly Technician works with a team to assemble technical drilling equipment for the following industries: environmental, geotechnical, water well, and geothermal. This is not an assembly line. Assembly Technicians use detailed schematics to build complex machines and are given a variety of work in their day-to-day schedules. Successful candidates will be highly mechanical with strong hands‑on and problem‑solving skills, committed to high‑quality work, comfortable working with a team, and driven to finish tasks on time.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build components and assemble drilling machines from start to finish.
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulic systems, power trains, and DC electrical systems to assemble machinery, systems, and equipment according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Conduct detailed quality inspections on assembled parts and systems to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Work closely with other team members, openly sharing knowledge and contributing to the team’s collective success.
  • Complete start up process and test machine to confirm functionality and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement – for the team, employee, company, or customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
