Job summary

Server Monkey is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the outbound operations team. You will assemble, test, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade IT hardware including servers, workstations, and network equipment.

You will prioritize sales orders, move inventory, and ensure packaging meets operational requirements. Candidates should have 2+ years of hands-on IT hardware experience and be proficient with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting and repairing IT hardware (Dell/HP/Cisco).
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Attention to detail and high quality standards.
  • Self-motivated with strong productivity and teamwork.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • SAP or SAP ByDesign experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist assembly line prioritization and processing of sales orders.
  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, repair, clean and catalog components.
  • Provide status updates and communicate issues to supervisors.
  • Meet project deadlines and generate status reports.
  • Follow ESD, quality, safety and recycling policies.
  • Support other departments as needed.

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician will support a variety of outbound Operations process requirements including; assembling, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading IT hardware. Adhere to and assist with the prioritization and processing of outbound sales orders, ensuring they are completed on time. Assist in the movement of inventory, and packaging products per operational requirements.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Assist in the organization and prioritization of sales orders on the assembly line and hold area, ensuring each order is shipped as soon as possible to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Assemble (configure to order), test, troubleshoot, repair, clean, and catalog electronic components, including but not limited to servers, workstations, network equipment, computers and spare parts.
  • Provide updates on sales order status, and effectively communicate issues.
  • Meet all project deadlines and create various reports as needed, providing frequent status updates to the Operations supervisor and manager.
  • Adhere to and maintain ESD requirements in all required work areas.
  • Adhere to and maintain all quality, safety, environmental & recycling processes and policies.
  • Assist Operations team and other departments as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting and repairing IT hardware (specifically Dell, HP, and/or Cisco).
  • Demonstrated initiative and research of new technologies.
  • Must have good communications skills (verbal & written).
  • Must have attention to detail (quality & accuracy).
  • Self-motivated; high performance/productivity.
  • Teamwork experience and strong team player.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Microsoft Access Database experience a plus.
  • Experience in SAP or SAP ByDesign is a plus.
  • One or more of the following certifications:
  • Certified Network Administration (CNA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Administration (CCNA)
  • A+ Certification
  • Microsoft Certified System Administration (MCSA)
  • Microsoft Technical Administration (MTA)
  • Server+ Certification
  • Network+ Certification
  • Willingness to work overtime, up to 6 hours per week, as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively.
