Job summary

Smith & Associates Europe B.V. in Houston is seeking a hands-on IT hardware technician to support teardown, testing, and repair of servers, workstations, and network equipment.

You will stage, organize, and process purchase orders in the teardown area and ensure data sanitization on inbound products. The role requires 2+ years of hardware experience (Dell, HP, Cisco), strong communication, and adherence to ESD and safety policies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience assembling, testing, troubleshooting and repairing IT hardware (Dell/HP/Cisco).
• Willingness to work overtime up to 6 hours per week as needed.
• Certifications listed above or equivalent are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Stage, organize, and process purchase orders in the Teardown area.

• Erase previous customer data from storage devices and reset devices to factory specs on inbound products.
• Provide updates on status of purchase orders and ensure expeditious completion.
• Meet project deadlines and create reports, with frequent status updates to supervisor/manager.
• Adhere to and maintain ESD requirements in all required work areas.
• Follow all quality, safety, environmental and recycling processes and policies.
• Assist Operations and other departments as needed.

Job description

Essential Job Duties:

• Stage, organize, and process purchase orders in the Teardown area.
• Organize, test, troubleshoot, repair, and catalogue electronic hardware, including but not limited to servers, workstations, network equipment, computers and spare parts.
• Effectively erase previous customer data from storage devices and products, including resetting devices to original factory specifications on all inbound products.
• Provide updates to the status of purchase orders in process, and ensure the expeditious completion of all purchase orders.
• Meet all project deadlines and create various reports as needed, providing frequent status updates to the Operations supervisor and manager.
• Adhere to and maintain ESD requirements in all required work areas.
• Adhere to and maintain all quality, safety, environmental & recycling processes and policies.
• Assist Operations team and other departments as needed.

Experience:

• Certified Network Administration (CNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Administration (CCNA)
• A+ Certification
• Microsoft Certified System Administration (MCSA)
• Microsoft Technical Administration (MTA)

• Network+ Certification

Software Requirements:

• Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Microsoft Access Database experience a plus.
• Experience in SAP or SAP ByDesign is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively.
