Job summary

Qualifications

  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze assembly line data to identify inefficiencies and areas for process improvement.
  • Design, test, and implement process changes that enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports to communicate progress and results to management.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for assembly-related issues.

Assembly Process Engineer

About the Role:

The Assembly Process Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing and enhancing manufacturing assembly operations to ensure high-quality product output and operational efficiency. This position focuses on analyzing current assembly processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven improvements that align with lean manufacturing principles. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain to develop and standardize best practices that reduce waste and improve throughput. A key outcome of this role is to drive continuous improvement initiatives that support cost reduction and elevate overall process reliability. Ultimately, the Assembly Process Engineer ensures that assembly lines operate at peak performance while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on assembly processes.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and process improvement techniques.
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Experience with advanced data analytics software and manufacturing execution systems (MES).

  • Familiarity with automation technologies and robotics in assembly processes.
  • Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP.
  • Previous experience writing PLC programs and troubleshooting PLC issues.
