Job summary

Summit Polymers is seeking an Operator, Assembly to join the manufacturing team. The role involves operating molding machines and assembling parts under supervision, with emphasis on quality checks and adherence to standard procedures.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform routine quality inspections. Reports to the Supervisor, Manufacturing (Assembly). This is a non-exempt, full-time role at Summit Polymers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.

Responsibilities

  • Reads, understands, and follows Operator Instruction Sheet to determine part number(s), inspection procedures, packing requirements, and any special instruction.
  • Retrieves, separates, inspects, counts, weighs, packs, and labels parts in accord with written and/or oral instructions.
  • Utilizes clippers, knives, screwdrivers, and other simple hand tools to trim, cut, and prepare parts for other operations per safety procedures.
  • Operates molding machines and/or air activated tools and equipment to assemble, decorate, or produce product; reports malfunctions and unacceptable variances in quality.
  • Compares, inspects, and monitors production quality to approved samples and accepts, rejects, or questions in accord with standards.
  • Performs simple clerical tasks involving recording and summarizing production as required.
  • Examines, repairs, trims, counts, weighs and performs secondary operations as directed.
  • Performs routine cleaning chores to maintain cleanliness of work station and area per 5S requirements.
  • Interface with the production monitoring system.
  • Assist in color changes / mold changes and set up for next job.
