Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions is seeking an assembler to build products per engineering specs at our Wallingford, CT facility. You will handle electronic components, subassemblies and final assemblies in a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Responsibilities include soldering, wiring, mounting components, and performing intermediate assembly tasks. The ideal candidate has 1+ year in manufacturing or relevant certs and a high school diploma, with export eligibility.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment or technical certificate.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • US Person or eligible to obtain export authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products to engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Assemble electronic components and subassemblies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
  • Solder and wire components per IPC standards and routes.
  • Mount and connect assemblies into cases and housings.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks and quality checks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble products to engineering specifications and drawings using tools provided
  • Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems
  • Maintains a neat, FOD free, safe and organized work area
  • Soldering and assembly of switches, PCB’s, and similar assemblies per IPC-A-610 AND IPC-J-STD-001 and route wires per IPC-A-620
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in fixture or other holding device
  • Crimps, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis panel
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases, housings, and cans
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches to assemblies
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching and color-coding parts and assemblies
  • Adjust or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to department supervisor
Required Skills
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, or technical certificate
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
Desired Skills
  • Experience as an assembler in defense manufacturing or aerospace
  • Able to perform simple math (addition and subtraction, ex. look at dimension)
  • Experience in using basic manufacturing equipment, tools and gauges such as multimeters, torque and force gauges, etc
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well on a team as well as alone
  • High motivation and drive
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with spray booth painting, conformal coating
  • Experience with different chemicals
  • Seam soldering and Acetylene Torch use
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for an extending period
  • Ability to work with your hands in a repetitive cycle
  • Ability to stand and walk
