Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions, a world leader in Signature Management and Power Conversion solutions, seeks a Production Assembler in New York. You will assemble products to engineering drawings, perform harness installation, wire stripping/crimping, and final assembly of large DC power supplies.

The role requires 2+ years in mechanical assembly, soldering ability, and the right to work in the US or eligibility for export authorization.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience (preferably in product development or automotive).
  • US Person or eligible to obtain export authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles products to engineering specifications and drawings using tools provided.
  • Uses soldering irons, solder pots, and hand tools to perform work.
  • Assemble parts and perform harness installation, wire stripping/crimping, Sub and final assembly of large DC power supplies.
  • May assemble prototype units for engineering.
  • Recommends solutions to assembly problems regarding fixtures and tools.
  • Assists other assemblers with questions related to the assembly of our products.
  • Compliance with Quality Management System procedures.

Job description

ESCO Maritime Solutions is a world leader in Signature Management and Power Conversion solutions for the US and UK naval defense market. Our solutions enable critical mission system capabilities and increase naval stealth on submarine and surface ship platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembles products to engineering specifications and drawings using tools provided
  • Use soldering irons, solder pots, and hand tools to perform work
  • Assemble parts and perform tasks such as harness installation, wire stripping/crimping, Sub and final assembly of large DC power supplies
  • May assemble prototype units for engineering
  • Recommends solutions to assembly problems regarding fixtures and tools
  • Assists other assemblers with questions related to the assembly of our products
  • Compliance with Quality Management System procedures
Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working with mechanical assembly (ideally in a product development or automotive environment)
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
Desired Skills:
  • 3+ years as a Production Assembler/Technician
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques of electromechanical products
  • Capable to read engineering drawings including assembly drawings, schematics and engineering instructions
  • Experience in using basic manufacturing equipment, tools and gages- multimeters, torque and force gages, etc
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well on a team as well as alone
  • High motivation and drive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and transport of units up to 30 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to use soldering iron
  • Use of hands in a repetitive cycle

Compensation Information

Base Hourly Range: $ 20.00 - $25.00

Please note, this is the expected compensation however, ESCO Maritime Solutions considers many factors in determining compensation prior to office, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
