Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is seeking a Group Leader Assembly Operations to supervise the manufacturing group, oversee production scheduling, tooling maintenance and process improvements. The role focuses on delivering quality and on-time products within a lean manufacturing framework.

The candidate should have a supervisory background in general assembly or manufacturing production, with a strong emphasis on adherence to standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of related experience required.
• Broad understanding of manufacturing methods, techniques and processes; ability to read/interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Basic math skills with reading drawings, specifications, charts and measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets).
• Moderate physical demand: lifting/moving avg weight over 25 lbs. 40–70% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and supervise assigned functions in Manufacturing Operations Group to manufacture and deliver products per requirements including quality, procurement, program requirements, cost control and change control.
• Perform assembly and test operations, operate equipment and oversee product quality; assign and monitor work to meet objectives.
• Manage program budgets, costs to complete and ensure compliance with quality systems.
• Ensure metrics for quality, schedule, cost and lean Enterprise practices are followed.
• Recommend production tooling needs and oversee tool maintenance.
• Ensure materials, machinery and personnel are available as needed.
• Report deficiencies and work to repair them; monitor work orders and takt time.
