Job summary

Actalent seeks a hands-on assembly technician in Seattle, WA, with a path to an Application Engineer. The role bridges customers and manufacturing, translating product requirements into production plans and providing DFM feedback.

You will quote, plan, and help develop efficient assembly processes. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in assembly/manufacturing/engineering, CAD experience (SolidWorks or Fusion 360), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in assembly, manufacturing, production or engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical or electromechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs and GD&T.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements to support quoting and project feasibility.
• Prepare cost estimates, labor estimates, and production plans.
• Support DFM/DFA efforts to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
• Develop assembly documentation, work instructions, and build plans.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer teams to ensure production readiness.
• Support production scheduling, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
