Job summary

Actalent is seeking a hands-on assembly technician in Seattle, WA, who aims to grow into an Application Engineer role. You will bridge customers and manufacturing by turning product requirements into production plans, including quoting, planning, and DFM feedback.

This contract role onsite in Seattle offers the opportunity to collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer teams to ensure production readiness and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in assembly, manufacturing, production, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical or electromechanical assembly processes.
• Able to read engineering drawings, BOMs and GD&T.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with sheet metal assemblies or manufacturing documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements to support quoting and project feasibility.
• Prepare cost estimates, labor estimates, and production plans.
• Support DFM/DFA efforts to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
• Develop assembly documentation, work instructions, and build plans.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer teams to ensure production readiness.
• Support production scheduling, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
