Job summary

Permatex is hiring an Assembly/Machine Operator for the 3rd shift in Solon, OH. The role involves hands-on assembly of components and products to exact specifications while upholding safety and quality standards.

Shift runs Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a base pay of $17–$19 per hour, plus a $1 per hour shift differential. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, able to perform basic math, and computer-literate.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be able to perform simple math calculations.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead operators on production line equipment while meeting EHS, Quality, and Production standards.
• Follow all environmental health and safety guidelines and quality procedures.
• Perform minor set-ups, cleaning and operation of filling and packaging machines.
• Accurately log production quantity, scrap, time, and traceability daily.
• Suggest safety improvements as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and equipment standards.
• Assist in training temporary workers on picking, placing, packing, and palletizing.
• Operate cardboard baler, plastic baler, compactor, carton erector, pallet jack, and taper/tape gun.
• Provide support to other line teams as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Assists the lead operators on production line equipment efficiently while maintaining Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, and Production standards.
• Promotes and follows all EHS and Quality guidelines and procedures.
• Performs minor set-ups, cleaning and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.
• Ability to accurately account for production quantity, process scrap, production time, and traceability practices by filling out a daily production log.
• Recommends safety improvements as needed
• Ensures all housekeeping and equipment standards are met.
• Assists in training temporary workers to pick/place/pack/palletize.
• Able to conduct basic operation of cardboard baler, plastic baler, compactor, carton erector, pallet jack, and taper/tape gun.
• Provides support and assistance to other line teams as needed.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• No previous experience is necessary, on-the-job training will be provided.
• Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be able to perform simple math calculations.
• Must be computer literate.

Compensation Information

$17–$19/hr (based on experience) Plus $1/hr shift differential for 3rd Shift
