Job summary

Software Placement Group in Chatsworth, CA seeks a skilled Assembly/Harnessing Technician for a direct-hire, on-site, first-shift role. Join the Manufacturing Assembly and Test team to build high-quality electromechanical assemblies in a highly regulated setting.

The position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and requires J-STD certification, 5+ years in electrical assembly and soldering, and the ability to read engineering drawings. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • J-STD Certification is required.
  • 5+ years of electrical assembly experience.
  • 5+ years of soldering experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble high-reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, standoffs, wire harnesses, solder, and crimping with electrical and mechanical instruments.
  • Perform high reliability soldering and crimping operations on complex sub-assemblies, electronic and mechanical assemblies, and repair circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses.
  • Read and work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and both written and oral instructions.
  • Follow applicable Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
  • Perform running harnessing and work with motion control pointing mechanisms as required.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to diagnose and propose necessary rework on intricate models.
  • Work closely with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest improvements to worksheet processes.
  • Clean components to required cleanliness levels and maintain traceability records, MDC forms, and configuration records on controlled programs.
  • Work on repair units alongside production units.
  • Travel to customer facilities as needed to service company hardware.

Overview

A precision manufacturing organization operating in a highly regulated industry (such as aerospace or medical device production) is seeking an Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join its Manufacturing Assembly and Test team. This is a direct hire opportunity reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, offering a collaborative, on-site environment where precision and reliability are critical to building high-quality electromechanical assemblies.

What you'll do

Required qualifications

  • Additional training from a technical/vocational school
  • NASA Certification preferred
