Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assembly/Harnessing Technician in Chatsworth, CA to join our SDG team on first shift. On-site work, reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, with benefits included and a direct-hire opportunity.

The role requires a HS Diploma, 5+ years in electrical assembly and soldering, experience in regulated manufacturing (Aerospace/MedicalDevices). J-STD solder certification is required; NASA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• J-STD solder certification is REQUIRED.
• 5+ years of electrical assembly experience.
• 5+ years of soldering experience.
• Read/interpret engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble high reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, stand offs, wire harnesses, solder and crimping, electrical and mechanical instruments.
• Perform high reliability soldering and crimping operations on complex sub-assemblies, electronic, and mechanical assemblies, repair of circuit boards, jumper wires, and wire harnesses.
• Decipher and work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications, and other instructions, both written and oral.
• Know and follow applicable Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
• Perform running harnessing and working with motion control pointing mechanisms as required.
• Work in concert with Product Engineering in diagnosing and proposing the necessary rework on models that are intricate in structure and design.
• Work closely with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest changes in worksheet processes.
• Clean components to required cleanliness levels. Maintains traceability records, MDC forms and configuration records on controlled programs.
• Work on repair units normally run with production units.
• May be required to travel to customer facilities and service company hardware.

To be considered for this Assembly/Harnessing Technician role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required. Additional training from a technical/vocational school always valued!
• 5+ years of experience electrical assembly and soldering experience
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. Aerospace, Medical Devices/FDA etc.) required
• J-STD solder certification required; NASA Certification preferred
