ABB is seeking an assembler/finisher for our Fort Smith, Arkansas facility. The role requires knowledge of AC motors, ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions, and collaboration with engineering to document prototype notes.

  • Motor manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret SFDs, special instructions, and diagrams.
  • Perform assembly/finishing tasks on motors and related components.
  • Use Shop Floor Display and SAP for data entry and communication with Engineering.
  • Maintain PPE, clean workstations, and follow safety procedures.
  • Move trays of motors up to 90 lbs along conveyors and assist in other areas as needed.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Quality Manager__The work model for the role is: Onsite, Fort Smith, ARYour role and responsibilities:Working knowledge of AC motors, including end plates, rotors, windings, motor layouts, shaft/endplate prints, troubleshooting, and diagnosis. Ability to read SFDs, special instructions, TDRs, manufacturing instructions, diagrams, and indication gauges. Experience in Assembly/Finishing is preferred.Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Shop Floor Display and Bus/SAP. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with Engineering regarding prototype notes and work with team members.Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, meet minimum production requirements, and produce defect-free, quality work. Must understand and properly use required PPE, maintain a clean workstation, and follow safety and manufacturing procedures.Ability to perform repetitive pulling, pushing, and twisting motions; move trays of assembled and unassembled motors weighing up to 90 lbs. across conveyor lines; and work with sealants, silicone, and greases.
