Job summary

Valmet seeks a dedicated Assembler for the 2nd shift to assemble valves per established guidelines and test results. The role emphasizes strict adherence to quality controls and precise materials matching against orders, while maintaining a clean, efficient work area.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months in assembly, be comfortable with night shifts, read blueprints, and apply strong mechanical aptitude to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in assembly or relevant work.
• Must be able to work night shift.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality processes preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and part numbers accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assemble valves in accordance with Valvtechnologies guidelines and VQP 011.
• Test valves following VQP 010 and verify quality compliance.
• Ensure materials match sales orders; pull parts for various departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and safe working conditions.
• Clock order documentation via barcode and communicate shipping needs.
• Stock inbound freight and replenish warehouse locations daily.
• Support production while meeting multiple deadlines with accuracy.

Job description

Position: Assembler

Shift: 2nd Shift

Position Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to assemble and test valves in accordance with established Valvtechnologies production and quality control guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assemble valves in accordance with established Valvtechnologies production and quality control guidelines, VQP 011
• Test valves in accordance with established Valvtechnologies production and quality control guidelines, VQP 010
• Strict technical specification and application/customer requirement compliance during production
• Pull parts for purchasing, sales, production, inventory orders
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment
• Pull sales order jobs, as well as I-jobs for vendor
• Confirm that the materials pulled completely match sales order document station provided by shop file, including parts identification and quantity of parts to be shipped
• Before shipment goes to Shop or Shipping Clerk, have Shop Lead or HP Production Manager check order for accuracy, this will eventually become the responsibility of this position)
• Write sales order number, job number on parts if they are going out to vendor. If order is going to Production, write sales order on pallet or bin
• After order is pulled, clock out order documentation via barcode
• Call Shipping Department or Low or High-Pressure shop when order is pulled. If order is going to Shop, write staging location on file and give file to department manager
• Stock inbound freight and replenish Warehouse locations
• After locating and stocking parts, clock inventory into system through M2M via barcode. Ensure quantity input in the system is 100% correct
• Replenish pulling location from overstock locations on a daily basis as needed
• Housekeeping and safety check of equipment
• Cleaning of department to be done on a daily basis and back storage yard to be done as needed
• May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor

Core Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months experience as in assembly or relevant work experience
• Must be able to work night shift

Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality processes
• Must be able to use pneumatic tools and hand tools
• Prefer experience with actuators and automated valves
• Must a mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to read blue prints, part numbers on orders and interpret instructions
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding.
• Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.
• Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.
