Job summary

Schindler Group in York, PA is hiring for a Shipping/Packaging associate responsible for packing and shipping elevator components, using SAP, RF scanners, and ensuring order accuracy and traceability.

You will prepare Handling Units, pick/assemble from SAP data, record barcode scans, and maintain quality and safety standards. GED or high school diploma is required, with a strong commitment to teamwork and process improvement.

Your main responsibilities

Perform all operations necessary to pack and ship a variety of mechanical and fabricated elevators components in the allocated times while maintaining quality specification.

  • Package and identify completed Handling Units for Shipping by using RF scanners
  • Work from SAP Sales order / GO requirement information to pick and/or assemble to assure proper order fulfillment for customer orders.
  • Assemble hardware to elevator components to fulfill specific assembly requirements
  • Input required information into SAP System to retain barcode scanning and traceability records
  • Perform all final operations required, to ensure conformance of components to customer and QA specifications.
  • Maintain all required records and documents.
  • Perform other duties, as instructed, necessitated by change or condition.
  • Observe all company rules and safety practices.
  • Provide suggestions and ideas for the continuous improvement of SEC operations.
  • Keep work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Work in assigned kitting lane.
