Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Hanover, PA is seeking an Assembler N to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble, fabricate and align a variety of mechanical elevator components from SAP 00R information, drawings and parts lists, ensuring timely production and adherence to quality standards.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude and a high school diploma or GED, with the opportunity to work with teams on platforms, safeties, rails, doors and related hardware.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mechanical assembly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fabricate and align mechanical elevator components within allocated time while meeting quality specs.
  • Use manufacturing information (SAP 00R, COE sheets, drawings) to assemble and ensure parts are available.
  • Assemble platforms, safeties, rails, doors and related hardware, and perform wiring tests as required.
  • Perform final operations such as filing, drilling, tapping and polishing to conform to QA specs.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Perform all operations necessary to assemble, fabricate and align, a variety of mechanical and fabricated elevator components in the allocated times while maintaining quality specifications.
  • Work from manufacturing information – SAP 00R (M.I.), C.O.E. sheets, engineering drawings, sketches, parts lists, written and/or oral instructions to assemble an assure all necessary parts are available.
  • Identify, accumulate and assemble all parts to complete platforms, platform components, safeties, buffer springs, jack supports, governor units, rail footers, hatch piping and buffer blocking assemblies, wire cab ceilings and perform continuity wiring test to ceilings as required, header entrances and feeder components, elevator hatch door locking devices and complete interlocks and required hardware packages and fit all components, including doors, jambs, walls and ceilings.
  • Complete all final operations required, i.e., filing, drilling, tapping and polishing. Perform hand or machine operations to insure conformance of components to customer and QA specifications.
  • Set up spray equipment and apply required adhesive coating of specified thickness to door material and/or decorative panels.
  • Perform other special duties such as laminating and upholstering of cab components as required to meet architectural specifications.
  • Maintain all required records and documents.
  • Perform other duties, as instructed, necessitated by change or condition.
  • Observe all company rules and safety practices.
  • Keep work area in a neat and orderly condition.
