Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assembler II - Doors to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble component parts into sub-assemblies and completed units, using hand, electric, and pneumatic tools, while following standard work instructions and safety rules.

We value accuracy, steady hands, and the ability to read tape measures. Candidates with 1–2 years in production and a high school diploma are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of production assembly experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fractions/decimals.
• Basic reading/writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble or produce sub-assemblies and completed units per work instructions.
• Operate hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
• Maintain performance in assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
• Keep work area clean and 6-S compliant.
• Perform minor equipment setups under supervision.
• Inspect parts and assemblies with inspection tools.
• Report defects to lead or supervisor.
• Follow SOPs and supervisor instructions.
• Cross-train teammates and assist with production as needed.
• Perform a variety of assembly duties with minimal supervision.

What you'll be responsible for

• Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and completed units adhering to the assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
• Jobs require the use of hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools.
• Maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
• All assembly operators are required to maintain their work area and common areas within the area in a clean and orderly condition by practicing 6‑S as part of a plant‑wide program.
• Performs minor adjustments or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
• Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to their lead person or department supervisor.
• Must be able to follow SOPs where provided as well as follow instructions from lead and supervisors.
• Cross‑training of team members and processes and assist with production as needed.
• Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications
