Job summary

SPX Technologies in Madison, AL is seeking an Assembler I to assemble cooling towers or custom air handling systems from engineering drawings and build orders. You will perform mechanical assembly, fit-up, and system integration under supervision, learning blueprint interpretation and assembly techniques.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement while developing foundational assembly skills across multiple stations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn assembly processes.
• Ability to follow work instructions and blueprints accurately.
• Experience with hand or pneumatic tools is preferred.
• Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment safely.
• Team oriented with strong safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systems.
• Perform adjustments and fine-tuning necessary for assembly.
• Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and materials lists.
• Assemble and install system components including fan sections, coils, dampers, and filters.
• Independently assemble complete air handling units from start to finish.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and participate in cross-training.
