Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an Assembler I for our Alabama campus to independently assemble cooling towers or custom air handling systems in line with engineering drawings, build orders, and quality standards. The role emphasizes safety, learning blueprint interpretation, and contributing to efficient assembly processes.

You will work under supervision, develop foundational assembly skills, and participate in cross-training across stations to support production needs.

Qualifications

Basic mechanical aptitude required and willingness to learn assembly processes.
Ability to follow work instructions, blueprints, and verbal direction accurately.
Ability to perform basic assembly, fastening, sealing, and fit-up activities.
Ability to safely utilize hand and pneumatic tools and standard assembly equipment.
Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systems.
Perform adjustments, settings, and fine-tuning operations for assembly.
Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of material accurately.
Independently assemble complete custom air handling units from start to finish.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company standards.
