Job summary

G&W Electric, an established manufacturing company in Romeoville, IL, is seeking an Assembler I. You will perform sub-assembly and assembly tasks of basic complexity, study instructions, and prepare parts accordingly.

You will read drawings and Bills of Materials, position components, and use hand and power tools to assemble parts. The role supports prototypes and requires English comprehension and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required or combination of work experience and skill development.
  • 0–1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to understand English instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Study assembly instructions, blueprints, and BOMs to prepare the work.
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements.
  • Assemble components, ensuring correct fit and secure fastening.
  • Assist in prototyping and basic assembly projects as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and conserve resources.
  • Document actions on production and quality forms and pass to next stage.

Assembler I
