Job summary

G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL seeks an Assembler I to perform sub-assembly and basic assembly tasks. You will study blueprints, read drawings, and position parts using templates for production.

The role requires reading and interpreting English instructions, safely using hand and power tools, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. No extensive experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 0–1 year of manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Able to safely use small hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and securing with fasteners.
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assist in prototype building and basic assembly projects as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow procedures and regulations.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.

Assembler I In this job you will perform a variety of sub assembly andor assembly operations of basic complexity.

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions blueprint specifications and parts lists
  • gathering parts subassemblies tools and materialsPosition parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit
  • fastening parts and subassembliesAssist in the building of prototypes andor other basic assembly projects outside of normal production as needed
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of basic assembly tasks as needed
  • Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Has a High School diploma GED or combination of work experience and skill development
  • Ideally has 0 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Is able to safely use small hand and power tools
  • Is able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
  • Has basic computer skills
  • Is able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English
