ABB Installation Products Inc. is seeking a production associate to assemble, test, and inspect medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches in the MVR department.

You will interpret drawings, access internal files, and ensure documentation and safety practices are followed. The role requires a HS diploma or GED and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience, with basic mechanical/electrical hand-tool skills and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, build, and test medium/high voltage electrical vacuum switches using standardized tools and test equipment.
• Interpret production drawings, BOMs, wire schematics, outlines and wire diagrams.
• Access drawings and files in internal systems.
• Report discrepancies/non-conformance to the responsible person.
• Complete documentation and follow work instructions as required.
• Collaborate in a team with product/manufacturing engineering and internal/external customers.
• Assist in training other team members as needed.
• Maintain 5S processes and safety practices, including PPE usage.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

This position reports to: Production Supervisor

Your Responsibilities

• Assemble build and test medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches utilizing standardized tools and test equipment in the MVR department
• Interpret production drawings and work instructions, which include wire schematics, outlines, BOMs and wire diagrams
• Utilize internal systems to access drawings and files
• Relay any discrepancies/non-conformance related issues to the responsible individual
• Complete all documentation and follow specific work instructions as required
• Must be able to work in a team environment while interfacing with team members that include product/manufacturing engineering and other internal/external customers
• Assist in training other team members as needed
• Maintain and sustain 5S processes and safety practices, including the use of PPE as required
• All other duties, as assigned

Your Background

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year manufacturing experience
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and hand‑tool knowledge

While hourly pay rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay starting at $19-$21. 1st shift hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday
