Job summary

ABB in Hackettstown, NJ is hiring for an entry-level manufacturing role focused on assembling, testing, and documenting medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches. You will read production drawings and BOMs, work with hand tools and basic test equipment, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of manufacturing experience, basic mechanical/electrical knowledge, and willingness to train, cross-train, and work overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge, and familiarity with hand tools.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, build and test medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches using standardized tools and test equipment.
• Interpret production drawings, wire schematics, outlines, BOMs and wire diagrams.
• Access drawings/files via internal systems and document work.
• Maintain 5S and safety practices, including PPE.
• Assist in training other team members as needed.
• Relay discrepancies/non-conformance to responsible individuals.
• Complete all required documentation.
