Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Production Associate in New Jersey to assemble, test, and wire medium and high voltage switches in the MVR department. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of manufacturing experience, plus basic mechanical/electrical skills and the ability to lift 40+ lbs. Starting pay is $19-$21 per hour; 1st shift is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, build and test medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches using standardized tools and test equipment in the MVR department.
• Interpret production drawings and work instructions, including wire schematics, outlines, BOMs and wire diagrams.
• Utilize internal systems to access drawings and files.
• Relay any discrepancies/non-conformance related issues to the responsible individual.
• Complete all documentation and follow specific work instructions as required.
• Must be able to work in a team environment while interfacing with team members that include product/manufacturing engineering and other internal/external customers.
• Assist in training other team members as needed.
• Maintain and sustain 5S processes and safety practices, including the use of PPE as required.
• All other duties, as assigned.

This position reports to:

While hourly pay rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay starting at $19-$21. 1st shift hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday
