Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in West Virginia to support the Store Manager in daily store operations, supervision of staff, inventory management, stocking, and receipts. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

Responsibilities include merchandising, inventory control, customer service leadership, and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking and pricing according to store direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and annual counts.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Support store opening and closing activities.
• Maintain cash controls and secure deposits.
• Ensure clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
