Job summary

Dollar General of Boyd, TX seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist in staffing, merchandising, inventory control, and daily store operations. This role supports the Store Manager and helps develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring in-stock targets, managing cashier accuracy, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store environment. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Knowledge of IBM cash register functions and reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise. Ensure pricing and signage follow established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and paperwork; prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities in sales, labor, and inventory turn.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
