Job summary

Dollar General Corporation invites applications for a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, and handling store operations. This role is intended to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The candidate will help recruit, merchandise, and ensure cashier accountability, while following company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends, expenses and inventory performance.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
