The ideal candidate has basic retail experience or willingness to learn required procedures, with strong math, cash handling, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling, cashier accountability, and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, keys, safety programs).
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination processes including legal compliance.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems in varying situations; bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, and stock control.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds.
• Assist in cash controls and security practices.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
