Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is looking for a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with installation and service of fire sprinkler systems. This entry-level role offers growth in a growing team within the fire and life safety industry.

Ideal candidates are motivated to enroll in the Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program, physically capable, and able to work on-site with basic hand tools. Travel to local sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program.
• Self-starter with teamwork attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willing to read blueprints and project schedules.
• Willing to thread and groove pipe.
• Willing to travel to local job sites.
• Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs, up to 50 lbs occasionally; climb ladders.
• Able to obtain OSHA 10.
• Commitment to deadlines and urgency.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with installation and service of overhead sprinkler systems, pumps, standpipes and hoses.
• Attend weekly job-site safety meetings.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints for piping installation.
• Coordinate with contractors to keep projects on time and budget.
• Follow Sciens safety programs and procedures.
