KIPP Chicago Public Schools seeks a Principal in Residence to prepare for a school leadership role within its Chicago network. The role involves active collaboration with a School Leader, coaching teachers, and developing emerging leaders while driving a shared vision and equitable outcomes.

The PIR program emphasizes on-the-job learning, mentorship, and formal professional development aligned to Chicago’s leadership competencies, with responsibilities progressively shifting to school leadership

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience as an assistant principal or equivalent (Required).
• Five years of teaching and school-level instructional experience.
• Commitment to racial and educational equity; accountability for centering equity.
• Ability to drive student academic results directly and through others.
• Experience teaching core academic subjects with track record of achievement.

Responsabilités

• Model and support implementation of the school’s vision and goals.
• Contribute to school-wide planning and prioritization of goals.
• Develop teachers and emerging leaders with School Leader guidance.
• Model strong staff and student culture and manage school-wide behavioral systems.
• Collaborate with School Leader to hire and retain diverse, highly-effective staff.
• Build own and team's content knowledge across subjects.
• Develop and coach teachers with data-driven instruction and feedback.
• Model personal leadership traits and growth mindset.
