This training role progresses through on‑the‑job assignments in food service management, procurement, and compliance with nutrition policies, while developing leadership and operational skills under supervision. Monday–Friday workweek is typical for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification must be held before training ends.
• Valid driver’s license required per NC requirements.
• Experience in food service management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Manager Trainee classroom instruction with 80% accuracy.
• Learn duties of Child Nutrition Manager through on‑the‑job training.
• Follow duties as assigned by CNS leadership and supervisor.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal nutrition policies.
• Serve as backup for CNS Managers with little notice.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
