The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist trainee in West Chicago, IL. You’ll learn to climb, prune, and remove trees, work on a crew, and gain hands-on experience with pruning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection.

This entry-level role offers on-site work with paid time off, holidays, a company-matched 401(k), health plan, and clear advancement paths. Formal orientation and safety training are provided, with nationwide opportunities.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or climbing at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsabilités

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
• Progressively learn pruning and removal services and safety skills.
• Learn to identify trees and follow pruning guidelines.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Assist in removing hazardous trees and maintaining tools and equipment.
