The Davey Tree Expert Company is looking for a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our outdoor team in Illinois. You’ll learn climbing, pruning, and tree-care tasks across multiple locations, gaining hands-on experience in safety-focused practices.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb and prune trees as part of a crew, learning safe techniques.
• Learn to perform pruning and removal services for client health and safety.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and maintain tools and equipment.
