Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center in Piqua, OH seeks an AE Aspire Instructor for the evening Piqua PM class. The role covers math, writing, reading, social studies, and science for GED preparation and WorkKeys refreshers. Classes meet Tue/Thu from 5 PM to 8 PM year round.

The instructor will develop adult learning plans, assess progress, maintain records, and support transitions to post-secondary opportunities. A bachelor’s degree is required; Aspire experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Education, Counseling, or Social Work preferred.
• Experience teaching adult learners preferred.
• Bachelor/Experience with Aspire program preferred.
• Background check and health screening required.

Responsibilities

• Assess students according to Aspire policy and place each participant into the appropriate level in the program.
• Create and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain records of the appropriate student data and ensure that all student records are accurate and current.
• Conduct intake procedures for new participants.
• Provide support services to the adult learner and refer students to other agencies as needed.
• Promote the program and recruit students through networking with local schools and community groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
