Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center is seeking an AE PLC and Robotics Instructor for the Adult Technology Center in Piqua, Ohio. This part-time evening role involves teaching PLCs and robotics in short courses of 4-5 weeks, two nights per week.

The instructor will design activities aligned with program objectives and state standards, guiding skills, teamwork and leadership to help students gain employment. Prior teaching and Ohio Adult Education permits preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years' work experience in field of expertise OR Associate's/Bachelor's/Master's degree in field plus 3 years' work experience in industrial maintenance with PLC experience.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with Control Logix 5000, Logix Pro, RS Logix and HMI software preferred; or setting up relay logic and VFDs. Siemens PLC experience is a plus.
• Robotics experience in theory and application, FANUC & Yaskawa/Motoman experience a plus.
• Holds or can obtain Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit.
• Must pass health screening and background checks (BCI/FBI).
• Must comply with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork and employability skills.
• Develops lesson plans for adult learners in classroom and lab settings.
• Monitors student progress using assessments.
• Coordinates with employers for real world student experiences.
• Prepares students for industry credential assessments.
• Assists with curriculum development, scheduling, and advisory meetings.
