Job summary

FNF Phoenix is seeking a skilled screed operator to operate the screed on our paving equipment and ensure asphalt is spread evenly and at the correct thickness. You will work closely with the paver operator to maintain proper asphalt depth and deliver a smooth surface.

The role requires experience with paving equipment, knowledge of asphalt paving processes, good physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork on site.

Qualifications

• Experience operating paving machines and screeds.
• Understanding asphalt paving principles including material consistency, compaction, and drainage.
• Good physical fitness to perform manual tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with crew and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust screed to level and spread asphalt.
• Assist with maintaining asphalt thickness and consistency.
• Ensure a smooth road surface free of blemishes.
• Follow project specifications for asphalt thickness, grade, and requirements.
• Perform basic maintenance on screed and related equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate with paver operator and crew to coordinate operations.
• Assist with job layout and understanding paving plan.
• Work with other paving equipment like rollers and loaders.
