Job summary

West Virginia Paving, Inc. seeks a seasoned Quality Control Manager to oversee companywide QC programs, lab quality systems, and a trained QA team. You will ensure HMA and material compliance with specs, lead data-driven improvements, and collaborate with project teams to resolve quality issues.

The role may require night/weekend work and travel, with supervision under limited oversight and a focus on safety and process excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or 4+ years of experience in quality control roles.
• HMA Plant and/or Paving Technician Classification preferred.
• Knowledge of safety, environment and transportation regulations.
• Certified Radiation Safety Officer or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection and analysis of HMA production and construction data; recommend adjustments to achieve standards.
• Assist in HMA mix design and design gradation development.
• Investigate reports of low-quality work and propose resolutions.
• Promote quality improvements and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead the Quality Control team and serve as RSO officer.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and assess site quality issues.
